Reach offers:
- The chance to 'sell' your organisation to our students, both in terms of volunteering and a career choice after graduation
- Access to the knowledge, skills and enthusiasm of our staff and student volunteers
- The option of coming into the University to promote your organisation directly to staff and students (volunteering fairs and outreach)
- The chance to promote your voluntary posts to over 35,000 students and staff!
Reach will:
- Promote your volunteering roles to our staff and students via Reach online, notice boards, drop-ins, fairs etc in an unbiased manner
- Offer you a volunteer who we feel is appropriate for your project, when we have someone available
- Intervene if you need help in dealing with problems with our volunteers
- Provide support whenever needed.
- Participate in a review of each volunteer’s placement after one month
- Hold an annual review with each partner organisation to discuss the impact of our volunteers’ involvement and to look at improvements/changes that can be made
You will:
- Sign up to Reach online and update your organisation’s profile
- Provide a description of each volunteering role and sign Reach’s volunteering agreement
- Inform us when our volunteers have begun volunteering and when their involvement ends, for whatever reason
- Induct each volunteer and provide training, where required and insure adherence to health and safety regulations
- Ensure that you have Employers Liability Insurance/Public Liability Insurance to cover all volunteers
- Work with volunteers in a non-discriminatory way
- Provide a named supervisor and regular supervision for each volunteering role
